MY WRITING

Information about my writing and writing experiences;

  • Poems have won several awards (National Haiku competition, Hats off to Slim, Scone Horse Festival).

  • Poetry published in Sun Herald, NGHS and Armidale Teachers College (school and college magazines), New Writers News, The Country Web, Armidale Express, Walcha News, Armidale Express, Apsley Advocate.

  • Readings on ABC radio.

  • Self-publication of three booklets of poems at Walcha Telecottage – ATMOSPHERIC, COMIC and MAGIC.

  • Short Stories have won prizes in State and National competitions - 1st Inverell Wednesday, HC in Fellowship of Australian Writers, HC in NZ Writers College Times, HC in Armidale Express, HC in Gunnedah Library Competition. National Finalist in Auswrite.

  • Published in two anthologies during 2022, "Out of the Shadows' (Lake Macquarie FAW), and "More than A Picture" (Mudgee Valley FAW). ​

  • Short Stories published in Scope and New Zealand Writers College Times.

  • Manuscript under consideration FIRE in the BELLY (set in Papua New Guinea in the late 1960s – historical romance), 82,000 words.

  • Articles published in New England Country Living, Volume 12, Spring 2013, New England Living, Volume 13, Spring 2018, Time to Roam, Issue 41, 2019.

  • Memberships and Workshops – Nundle Writers’ Retreat, Armidale Writers’ Group, Writing NSW, Australian Society of Authors, Hunter Writers’ Group, Freelance Writing with Bianca Nogrady, Crime-writing with Marele Day, Publishing Essentials with Joel Naoum, Nature Writing Course.
