Here's the passionate wordsmith after a hiatus of nearly three years. I want to share with you my present interests and successes. Last year I joined Stroud Writers Group, and their loving encouragement saw me enter several FAW competitions, with success in two! A short story has been published in "Out of the Shadows" anthology, and "Moon in the Morning" is a poem published in "More than a Picture", with another poem winning Viewers' Choice.
There comes a time when a writer steps out of his/her lonely confines and goes for the big time, but there also follows a time of humility when one's heartfelt manuscript is rejected (many times). A new direction is needed, and I found mine with the death of my most beautiful Jack Russell late last year. Not long ago, I was awaked by some words that were flashing before my eyes, so I jumped up and wrote them down immediately on a piece of yellow paper, as follows:
No-one else will ever love me like you.
No-one else will ever own me like you.
I am always but a breath away from you.
Don't ask me to love him.
I will tolerate him as long as he is nice to you.
And he is a nice person.
So where did those words come from, I ask you?
They have formed the beginning of a brand new manuscript!
